The paper has 100 MCQs (Physics 40, Maths 35, English 15, Chemistry/CS 10), or 65 for Pre-Medical, and no negative marking. Merit depends on the university: UET Peshawar 10% SSC + 40% Part-I + 50% ETEA, UET Mardan 10% + 50% + 40%, CECOS 10% + 40% + 50%. Under UET Mardan’s 10/50/40 split, the same student (with full Intermediate at 80%) gets 9.00 + 40.00 + 28.00 = 77.00.

- Pre-Medical candidates with additional Maths sit the 100-MCQ paper; Pre-Medical without Maths sits the 65-MCQ paper.

ETEA Test Dates, Fee and Eligibility

- Fee: Rs 1,000 per test (non-refundable). You can sit both tests by applying for each one.
- Eligibility: Intermediate Pre-Engineering, Computer Science, Pre-Medical (with or without additional Maths), DAE or B.Tech. Students awaiting their final result can apply.
- UET Mardan asks for at least 60% unadjusted marks in Intermediate (or 60% in DAE / B.Tech).
- Under PEC policy (30 March 2023), at least two entrance tests are held each year. After the test, apply to each university separately.
Common ETEA Aggregate Mistakes
- Using one formula for every university. UET Peshawar (10/40/50) and UET Mardan (10/50/40) give different results for the same marks.
- Using full Intermediate for UET Peshawar. It uses Part-I marks (out of 550).
- Entering the test out of 400 or 800. The current ETEA engineering paper is 100 MCQs at one mark each.
- Mixing up admission and job tests. ETEA’s teacher-recruitment merit (academic score) is a different system from this admission aggregate.

What is the ETEA aggregate formula?
ETEA doesn’t set one formula. UET Peshawar uses 10% SSC + 40% Intermediate Part-I + 50% ETEA; UET Mardan uses 10% SSC + 50% Intermediate + 40% ETEA; CECOS uses 10/40/50.
How many MCQs are in the ETEA engineering test?

Is ETEA out of 100 or 400?

ETEA holds at least two tests a year under PEC policy. In 2026 they were on 4-5 July and 25-26 July, and you could take both.
What is the ETEA test fee?
Rs 1,000 per test, non-refundable, paid when you register at etea.edu.pk.
