ECAT Aggregate Calculator (UET & Every ECAT University)

Use this free ECAT aggregate calculator to calculate your engineering admission aggregate from Matric, FSc Part-I and ECAT marks. It uses UET Lahore’s official 17-50-33 formula and the ECAT formulas of every other university that accepts ECAT, then shows the ECAT score you need for your target merit.

Quick answer

UET Lahore’s Fall 2026 prospectus sets the ECAT aggregate as 17% Matric + 50% FSc first year (Part-I) + 33% ECAT. ECAT is out of 400, so divide your score by 4 to get its percentage. UET Taxila, KFUEIT and the University of Gujrat use the same 17-50-33. BZU, NFC-IET and IUB use ECAT with their own weightage. Pick your university below.

UET and most ECAT universities use your first-year (Part-I) marks, even if you have completed Intermediate, so the total is set to 550. ECAT is out of 400; if you took ECAT twice, enter your best score.

What ECAT score do you need?

Set your target merit and we work backwards from your Matric and FSc marks to the ECAT score you need. The grid shows your merit at every score from 50% to 100% of the paper.

The five subject combinations are Maths-Physics-Chemistry, Maths-Physics-Computer Science, Maths-Statistics-Computer Science, Biology-Physics-Chemistry and Maths-Statistics-Physics. Your ECAT combination must match your Intermediate subjects, because UET only considers you for disciplines that fit it. DAE candidates can only choose Physics-Maths-English with Chemistry or Computer Science.

O/A-Level, DAE and Other Routes at UET

ApplicantUET aggregate formula
FSc / ICS (Intermediate stream)17% Matric + 50% first year + 33% ECAT
O/A-Level or foreign qualification67% O-Level (11th class, IBCC) + 33% ECAT

Non-ECAT programmes (BBA, Chemistry, Physics...)25% Matric + 75% first year, no test

A Hafiz-e-Quran can get 0 to 20 extra marks after an oral test by UET’s verification committee, and a sportsperson up to 10 marks added to Intermediate marks after trials. Pre-Medical applicants with Mathematics are assessed on their first-year marks including Biology, as long as they pass Mathematics.

What Each Mark Is Worth in Your ECAT Aggregate

Improvement (UET formula)Change in aggregate
+10 ECAT marks (out of 400)+0.83 points
+10 FSc Part-I marks (out of 550)+0.91 points
+10 Matric marks (out of 1100)+0.15 points
+1 correct ECAT question (4 marks)+0.33 points

Your FSc Part-I result is already fixed by the time you sit ECAT, so ECAT is the only part you can still change. With no negative marking, answer every question.

ECAT Eligibility and Minimum Aggregate

  • 60% in Intermediate or DAE (excluding Hafiz and sports marks) for engineering, architecture and NCEAC computer engineering at UET; 50% for science, technology and business programmes.
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% to be considered for any UET undergraduate programme.
  • Anyone can sit ECAT, but taking it does not by itself make you eligible for admission.
  • Other ECAT universities set their own minimums, usually 60% for engineering.

Common ECAT Aggregate Mistakes

  • Using full FSc marks out of 1100. UET uses first-year marks out of 550, even after you have completed FSc.
  • Entering ECAT as a percentage out of 100. ECAT is out of 400; 300 marks is 75%.
  • Assuming negative marking. ECAT has none, so a blank answer is a wasted chance.
  • Using UET’s formula for BZU, NFC or IUB. They weight ECAT differently.
  • Comparing with the wrong list. A1, A2 and A1-M (Pre-Medical) close at different aggregates.

Frequently asked questions

How is the ECAT aggregate calculated?

At UET: Matric % × 0.17 + FSc Part-I % × 0.50 + ECAT % × 0.33, where ECAT % is your score ÷ 400 × 100. For example, 950/1100, 480/550 and 250/400 give 78.94%.

Is ECAT out of 400?

Yes. ECAT has 100 questions worth 4 marks each, for 400 marks in total.

Is there negative marking in ECAT?

No. UET’s official ECAT page says there is no negative marking and no passing threshold.

Does UET use FSc Part-I or full FSc marks?

Part-I (first year). UET’s Fall 2026 prospectus says Part-I is used even if you have already completed Intermediate.

Can I take ECAT twice?

Yes. UET holds more than one ECAT per year, and your best score is used for merit.

What is the ECAT aggregate formula for A-Level students?

67% O-Level marks (from your IBCC equivalence) + 33% ECAT.

What ECAT aggregate do I need for UET Computer Science?

In UET’s first merit list for Fall 2026, Computer Science at the main campus closed at 87.47% (A1 category). KSK closed at 81.17% and Faisalabad at 78.85%.

Which universities accept ECAT?

UET lists UET Lahore and its Faisalabad and Narowal campuses, RCET Gujranwala, UET Taxila, BZU Multan, IUB Bahawalpur, NFC-IET Multan, KFUEIT Rahim Yar Khan and the University of Gujrat as ECAT partners.

Is this the official UET aggregate?

No. This is an independent calculator built from UET’s own prospectus and ECAT pages. Your official aggregate appears in UET’s merit lists.

How this page was checked. The ECAT pattern, the no-negative-marking rule and the partner list come from UET’s official ECAT portal. The UET formula, O/A-Level, DAE and other routes, and Hafiz and sports marks come from UET’s Undergraduate Prospectus Fall 2026. The closing aggregates come from UET’s official Minimum Aggregate Report (Fall 2026, first merit list). The UET Taxila, KFUEIT, BZU, NFC-IET, IUB and UOG formulas come from those universities’ own admission pages. All were read in September 2026. Five other ECAT calculator pages were checked: one used a generic 10/40/50 split, one gave cutoffs without a source, and one said ECAT has negative marking in one place and none in another. This page follows the official sources on each point. This site is independent and is not affiliated with UET Lahore.
