UOG Merit & Aggregate Calculator (University of Gujrat)

Use this free UOG (University of Gujrat) merit and aggregate calculator to calculate your admission merit with UOG’s own admission policy. Choose your programme group, enter your Intermediate first-year marks (and Matric and test marks where they count), and get your merit.

Quick answer

UOG’s admission policy bases merit for most BS programmes on Intermediate first-year (Part-I) marks only, or DAE first-two-year marks, with no entry test and no Matric weight. BSc Engineering uses 50% Part-I + 17% Matric + 33% entry test. Engineering Technology uses 70% Part-I + 30% UOG departmental test.

UOG uses first-year Intermediate marks (usually out of 550), or the first two years of DAE. For BSc Engineering, enter your accepted engineering test against its own total (for example ECAT out of 400).

What Entry test score do you need?

Set your target merit and we work backwards from your Matric and FSc marks to the Entry test score you need. The grid shows your merit at every score from 50% to 100% of the paper.

University of Gujrat Merit Formula by Programme

Programme groupMerit formula
Most BS programmes: English, Urdu, Islamic Studies, Mass Communication, LLB, Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Science, BBA, Commerce, Accounting & Finance, sciences, social sciences, design and fine artsIntermediate first-year marks (or DAE first two years)
BSc Chemical Engineering, BSc Electrical Engineering50% Part-I + 17% Matric + 33% entry test
BSc Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Technology; BS Food Process Engineering Technology70% Part-I + 30% UOG departmental entry test
Bachelor of ArchitectureDepartmental entry test and interview; UOG does not publish the weightage

UOG takes applications on first-year Intermediate marks. Your complete Intermediate result must then reach the programme’s minimum (45% or 50%, or 60% for engineering), or the admission is cancelled.

Most UOG BS programmes have no entry test and no Matric weight. For LLB you must also pass the HEC LAT with at least 50%, but merit is still based on Intermediate marks.

How to Calculate Your UOG Merit: Worked Examples

Most BS programmes

A student scores 480/550 in Intermediate first year: 480 ÷ 550 × 100 = 87.27%. That is the merit.

Engineering Technology

The same Part-I marks with 65/100 in the UOG departmental test: 87.27% × 0.70 + 65% × 0.30 = 61.09 + 19.50 = 80.59%.

UOG Eligibility Criteria

ProgrammeMinimum in Intermediate
BSc Chemical / Electrical Engineering60% (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, ICS or relevant DAE) plus an accepted entry test
Engineering Technology programmes50% (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, ICS or relevant DAE) plus the UOG departmental test
Computing & IT (CS, IT, SE, Data Science)50%
Bachelor of Architecture50% in Pre-Engineering / Pre-Medical / A-Level / Intermediate with Maths and Physics, or DAE Architecture, plus a departmental test and interview
Arts, Management, Science, Social Sciences, Design, LLB45% (LLB also needs 50% in the HEC LAT)

Pre-Medical or Science students without Mathematics who are admitted to engineering must pass two Maths deficiency courses in their first year. DAE holders compete on open merit only; there is no DAE quota.

Students admitted on the special persons, Balochistan and ex-FATA quotas get a 100% waiver in university fee and hostel charges. Reserved-seat merit is decided within each category, and unfilled seats go to open merit. Reserved seats are for morning programmes only, and there are none for fifth-semester or two-year associate programmes.

UOG Merit Impact: How Much Is Each Mark Worth?

ImprovementMost BSBSc EngineeringEngineering Technology
+10 marks in Part-I (out of 550)+1.82 points+0.91 points+1.27 points
+10 ECAT marks (out of 400)—+0.83 points—
+1 UOG test mark (out of 100)——+0.30 points

For most programmes your first-year Intermediate result is the only thing that counts, so every Part-I mark matters.

UOG Closing Merit: What Merit Do You Need?

UOG displays merit lists by programme and campus (Hafiz Hayat campus in Gujrat, and the Mandi Bahauddin sub-campus). There is no fixed cut-off: it depends on seats and applicants each year.

For most programmes your merit is your Part-I percentage, so you can compare it directly with the last merit list for your programme.

How to Improve Your UOG Chances

  • Your first-year Intermediate marks decide most admissions. Every mark counts.
  • Keep your complete result above the minimum. Falling below 45%, 50% or 60% cancels a provisional admission.
  • For engineering, prepare for ECAT or another accepted test. It carries 33%.
  • For engineering technology, prepare for UOG’s departmental test. It is compulsory.
  • Check the reserved seats. Several quotas come with full fee and hostel waivers.

Common UOG Merit Calculation Mistakes to Avoid

  • Adding Matric to most BS programmes. UOG’s policy uses first-year Intermediate marks only.
  • Using a 30/70 or 10/40/50 split. UOG’s policy does not use either for BS programmes.
  • Using full Intermediate marks out of 1100. Merit is based on the first year.
  • Using the engineering formula for engineering technology. Technology uses 70% Part-I + 30% UOG test.
  • Treating the estimate as final. Only UOG’s merit lists are official.

Frequently asked questions

What is the University of Gujrat merit formula?

For most BS programmes, merit is based on Intermediate first-year (Part-I) marks only, or DAE first-two-year marks. BSc Engineering uses 50% Part-I + 17% Matric + 33% entry test, and Engineering Technology uses 70% Part-I + 30% UOG departmental test.

Does UOG count Matric marks?

Only for BSc Engineering (17%). For other programmes, merit is based on first-year Intermediate marks.

Is there an entry test for UOG BS programmes?

Not for most BS programmes. BSc Engineering needs an accepted engineering test (UET, NED, MUET, NUST, NTS or ETEA), Engineering Technology needs the UOG departmental test, and B.Arch has a departmental test and interview.

How is the UOG aggregate calculated for engineering?

Part-I % × 0.50 + Matric % × 0.17 + test % × 0.33. For example, 480/550, 950/1100 and ECAT 280/400 give 81.42%.

What is the minimum percentage for UOG?

45% for most BS programmes, 50% for computing and engineering technology, and 60% for BSc Engineering, in the complete Intermediate result.

Does UOG have a quota for overseas Pakistanis?

Yes, 5% of seats are reserved for the children of overseas Pakistanis.

Is this the official UOG merit?

No. This is an independent estimator built from UOG’s own undergraduate admission policy. UOG publishes the official merit lists.

How this page was checked. Every formula, the eligibility minimums and the reserved seats come from UOG’s own undergraduate admission policy, the latest edition UOG has published, linked from its Admission Policy page and read in September 2026. The Bachelor of Architecture requirements come from UOG’s Department of Architecture page, which does not state a weightage. The other calculator pages checked disagreed on most BS programmes: one used first-year marks (matching UOG), one did not calculate them, one used a 30/70 split that is not in UOG’s policy, and one gave no formula.
