This is the formula in UET Lahore’s own Undergraduate Prospectus Fall 2026 for all ECAT programmes. It applies at the main campus and at the KSK, Faisalabad and Narowal campuses and RCET Gujranwala.
Your minimum aggregate must be 50%. UET’s 2021 prospectus used a different formula (70% Intermediate + 30% entry test), so check the prospectus for your own intake year.

Pre-Medical applicants with Mathematics are assessed on their first-year marks including Biology, as long as they pass Mathematics, and compete on the separate A1-Med list. A Hafiz-e-Quran can get 0 to 20 marks after an oral test by UET’s verification committee, and a sportsperson up to 10 marks after trials.
ECAT: Test Structure and Marking
- 100 questions, 400 marks: 4 marks for each correct answer.
- No negative marking and no passing threshold for any programme.
- 10 English questions; the other 90 are split equally across your three subjects.
- 100 minutes.
- More than one ECAT is held each year, and your best score counts.
- Five subject combinations; yours must match your Intermediate subjects. DAE candidates choose Physics-Maths-English with Chemistry or Computer Science.

Mark for mark, FSc Part-I and ECAT move your aggregate by about the same amount. Part-I is already fixed when you sit ECAT, so ECAT is where you can still gain.
UET Lahore Eligibility 2026
- 60% in Intermediate, DAE or equivalent (excluding sports and Hafiz marks) for Engineering, Architecture and Computer Engineering (NCEAC).
- 50% for Science, Technology and Business programmes.
- A minimum aggregate of 50%.
- ECAT (first or second attempt of the same year) for all ECAT programmes, in a combination matching your Intermediate subjects.
How to Improve Your UET Lahore Merit
- Take both ECATs. Your best score counts, so a second attempt can only help.
- Answer every question. There is no negative marking.
- Practise the full 90-question science block, not just Mathematics.
- List the campuses as well. KSK, Faisalabad, Narowal and RCET close several points lower than the main campus.
- Apply for Hafiz or sports marks if you qualify; they are added only after verification.
Common UET Aggregate Mistakes
- Using full FSc marks out of 1100. UET uses Part-I marks out of 550, even after you finish FSc.
- Entering ECAT out of 100. ECAT is out of 400.
- Using the Intermediate formula for O/A-Level or DAE. Those routes use 67% + 33%.
- Comparing with the wrong category. A1, A2 and A1-Med close at different aggregates.
- Treating the estimate as final. Only UET’s merit lists are official.
