BZU Merit & Aggregate Calculator (Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan)

Use this free BZU Multan merit and aggregate calculator to calculate your admission merit with the formula BZU publishes for your programme: engineering, agricultural engineering, and the no-test programmes such as BBA and LLB. Pick your programme, enter your marks and you will get your aggregate.

Quick answer

BZU does not use one formula for every programme. Its official pages give BSc Engineering = 70% FSc Part-I (or DAE) + 30% ECAT/BZU entry test for Civil, Building & Architectural, Computer and Metallurgy Engineering. Mechanical Engineering = 15% Matric + 35% FSc Part-I + 50% test, and Agricultural Engineering = 15% Matric + 50% FSc Part-I + 35% test. BBA, LLB, Remote Sensing & GIS and Computational Biology use 30% Matric + 70% Intermediate with no weighted test. Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get 20 extra marks added to their FSc marks.

BZU offers admission on FSc Part-I marks, so the total is set to 550. If you apply on DAE or full Intermediate marks, change the total. Hafiz-e-Quran candidates should add 20 to their obtained FSc/DAE marks. If you took BZU’s own entry test instead of ECAT, change the test total to match your result.

What ECAT score do you need?

Set your target merit and we work backwards from your Matric and FSc marks to the ECAT score you need. The grid shows your merit at every score from 50% to 100% of the paper.

Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get 20 marks added to their FSc or DAE marks once BZU’s verification committee accepts the claim. Engineering admission is offered on FSc Part-I results and confirmed only if you get at least 60% in the final FSc, ICS or DAE result.

How to Calculate Your BZU Engineering Aggregate

ComponentMarksPercentageWeightagePoints
FSc Part-I480 / 55087.27%70%61.09
ECAT250 / 40062.50%30%18.75
Aggregate——100%79.84%

The same marks on Mechanical Engineering’s 15/35/50 formula, with 950/1100 in Matric, give 74.75%. The test carries half the weight there, so a weaker test score costs more. On the no-test 30/70 formula (BBA, LLB), 950/1100 and 480/550 give 87.00%.

BZU Merit Impact: What Each Mark Is Worth

ImprovementEngineering (70/30)Mechanical (15/35/50)
+10 marks in FSc Part-I (out of 550)+1.27 points+0.64 points
+10 ECAT marks (out of 400)+0.75 points+1.25 points
+10 marks in Matric (out of 1100)No effect+0.14 points

For most BZU engineering programmes, your FSc Part-I result matters most. For Mechanical Engineering, the entry test matters most.

BZU Eligibility Criteria

ProgrammeMinimum
BSc Engineering (all departments)60% in FSc Pre-Engineering, ICS (Physics, Maths, CS), FSc Pre-Medical with additional Maths, or relevant DAE + ECAT or BZU entry test
BSc Agricultural Engineering60% in FSc/ICS or relevant DAE (excluding Hafiz marks) + entry test
BS Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Cyber Security50% in Intermediate with Maths or Computer (as listed per programme)
BBA, LLB, BS Remote Sensing & GIS, most BS programmes45% in Intermediate (Remote Sensing: 60% for ICS)
DVM45% in FSc Pre-Medical + university admission test

Pre-Medical applicants to engineering must complete additional or condensed Mathematics. DAE holders can apply only in the matching engineering discipline and only on the DAE seats.

How to Improve Your Chances at BZU

  • Take ECAT or the BZU entry test seriously. It is 30% of engineering merit and 50% for Mechanical.
  • Keep your final FSc above 60%. Engineering admission on Part-I marks is provisional until then.
  • Apply for Hafiz-e-Quran verification if you qualify. The 20 marks only count after the committee accepts the claim.
  • Apply to more than one engineering department. Mechanical uses a different formula, so your rank can differ between departments.
  • Pass the qualifying tests (LAT for LLB, drawing test for Textile Design) even though they carry no merit weight.

Common BZU Merit Calculation Mistakes to Avoid

  • Using one BZU formula for everything. Engineering, Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering and the no-test programmes all differ.
  • Counting Matric for Civil, Computer or Electrical Engineering. Their formula is FSc Part-I and test only.
  • Entering full FSc marks out of 1100 when BZU is calculating merit on Part-I marks out of 550.
  • Forgetting the test total. ECAT is out of 400; BZU’s own test may have a different total.
  • Treating the estimate as final. Only BZU’s merit lists are official.

Frequently asked questions

What is the BZU merit formula for engineering?

For Civil, Building & Architectural, Computer and Metallurgy Engineering, BZU uses 70% FSc Part-I (or DAE) + 30% ECAT or BZU entry test. Mechanical Engineering’s page gives 15% Matric + 35% FSc Part-I + 50% entry test.

Does BZU accept ECAT?

Yes. BZU engineering programmes accept ECAT (UET Lahore) or BZU’s own entry test.

What is the BZU merit formula for BBA and LLB?

30% Matric + 70% Intermediate Part-I, with no weighted test. LLB also needs a 50% pass in the HEC LAT.

What is the BZU Agricultural Engineering merit formula?

15% Matric + 50% FSc Part-I (or DAE) + 35% entry test, with 20 Hafiz-e-Quran marks included in the FSc marks.

How many marks do Hafiz-e-Quran get at BZU?

20 marks, added to the FSc or DAE marks after verification by the university committee.

Does BZU admit on FSc Part-I marks?

Yes. Engineering and many other programmes offer provisional admission on Part-I results. It is confirmed once the final result meets the minimum.

What is the BZU merit for BS Computer Science?

BZU’s CS department page says merit is as per university policy. Its most recent published formula (2022) was 100% Intermediate marks including 20 Hafiz marks. Use the custom option with your notice’s weightage.

Is this the official BZU merit?

No. This is an independent estimator built from BZU’s own prospectus and programme pages. BZU publishes the official merit lists.

BZU admissions

How this page was checked. The engineering, Mechanical, Agricultural Engineering, LLB, Computational Biology and DVM rules come from BZU’s own undergraduate programme pages. The Textile Engineering, Remote Sensing & GIS, BBA and ADP formulas come from BZU’s Prospectus 2026. All were read in September 2026. Where two BZU sources disagree (Textile Engineering: 67/33 in the prospectus, 70/30 online), both are shown. The other calculator page checked mostly matched these sources, but it showed only 70/30 for Textile Engineering and did not list Mechanical Engineering’s separate formula. The BZU Computer Science department’s own merit page was also checked; it shows the 2022 formula only, so that formula is not presented as current. This site is independent and is not affiliated with Bahauddin Zakariya University.
