About University of Education

The University of Education (UE) is a public university established in 2002 by the Government of Punjab, headquartered in Township, Lahore. It evolved from the Punjab Institute of Teacher Education (PITE) and was granted university status to address the critical need for quality teacher training across Punjab.

UE is one of Pakistan’s largest teacher education universities by campus network, with sub-campuses in Faisalabad, Multan, Vehari, Dera Ghazi Khan, Attock, Jauharabad, Okara, and a second Lahore campus on Banks Road. The university is primarily known for its B.Ed, BS Education, M.Ed, MS Education, and PhD Education programmes.

How to Calculate Your UE GPA

Your semester GPA at University of Education is calculated by multiplying each course’s credit hours by its grade points, summing all results, and dividing by the total credit hours attempted that semester.

GPA Formula: GPA = ∑(Credit Hours × Grade Points) ÷ ∑(Credit Hours)

Example: Teaching Methods (3 cr, A = 4.00), Educational Psychology (3 cr, B+ = 3.33), Curriculum Design (3 cr, A- = 3.67), Pakistan Studies (2 cr, B = 3.00).

  • Teaching Methods: 3 × 4.00 = 12.00
  • Educational Psychology: 3 × 3.33 = 9.99
  • Curriculum Design: 3 × 3.67 = 11.01
  • Pakistan Studies: 2 × 3.00 = 6.00
  • Total: 39.00 ÷ 11 credit hours = GPA 3.55

Use the UE GPA Calculator above for instant results.

How to Calculate Your UE CGPA

CGPA at University of Education is the credit-weighted average of all semester GPAs across your full programme — B.Ed, BS Education, M.Ed, or otherwise.

CGPA Formula: CGPA = ∑(Semester GPA × Semester Credit Hours) ÷ ∑(Total Credit Hours)

Example: Sem 1: GPA 3.55 (18 cr), Sem 2: GPA 3.30 (18 cr), Sem 3: GPA 3.60 (18 cr).

  • Sem 1: 3.55 × 18 = 63.90
  • Sem 2: 3.30 × 18 = 59.40
  • Sem 3: 3.60 × 18 = 64.80
  • CGPA: 188.10 ÷ 54 = CGPA 3.48

Use the CGPA Calculator tab above to enter your semester GPAs and credit hours automatically.

Absolute vs Relative Grading at UE

University of Education uses absolute grading — your grade is determined entirely by your own marks against fixed percentage thresholds, not by how your class as a whole performs.

Grading MethodHow It WorksUsed at UE
Absolute GradingFixed cutoffs: 85%+ = A (4.00), 80–84% = A- (3.67), etc.Standard across all campuses and programmes
Relative / Curve GradingTop scorers always get A; grades adjusted to class distributionNot used

Because UE uses absolute grading, this calculator gives you a reliable estimate of your GPA based solely on your own exam, assignment, and coursework marks.
