About National Skills University
National Skills University (NSU) is a federal public university established by the Government of Pakistan and chartered by the HEC in Islamabad. NSU was created to bridge the gap between Pakistan's large technical and vocational education sector and the formal degree-level system — enabling skilled workers, diploma holders, and technicians to progress to full Bachelor's and Master's degree qualifications without abandoning their technical pathways.
A defining feature of NSU is its recognition of DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineer) holders and NAVTTC/TEVTA certificate graduates as eligible entrants for BS Engineering Technology programmes through lateral entry — a route not offered at most conventional universities. This positions NSU as a critical institution for Pakistan's upskilling agenda, converting technical workforce skills into nationally and internationally recognised academic credentials.
NSU is located in Islamabad and offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across engineering technology, computing, and business disciplines. All degrees awarded by NSU are recognised by the HEC and eligible for attestation, government employment, and professional certification.
NSU Grading Scale (Official 10-Grade System)
NSU follows the HEC 4.0 grading scale across all programmes. A+ and A are distinct grade entries — both carry a grade point of 4.00, but A+ requires a score of 90–100% while A requires 85–89%.

How to Calculate Your NSU GPA
Your semester GPA at NSU is the weighted average of grade points earned in all subjects, with each subject weighted by its credit hours.
GPA Formula: GPA = ∑(Grade Points × Credit Hours) ÷ ∑Credit Hours
Example (BS Electrical Technology): Circuit Analysis (3 cr, A = 4.00) + Power Systems (3 cr, B+ = 3.33) + Maths III (3 cr, A- = 3.67) + Lab (2 cr, A+ = 4.00) = (12.00 + 9.99 + 11.01 + 8.00) ÷ 11 = 3.73 GPA
How to Calculate Your NSU CGPA
Your CGPA at NSU is the credit-weighted average of all semester GPAs from your first enrolled semester through to your most recent completed semester.
CGPA Formula: CGPA = ∑(Semester GPA × Semester Credit Hours) ÷ Total Credit Hours
Use the CGPA tab above — enter each semester's GPA and credit hours for an instant cumulative result. For DAE lateral entry students who enter at 3rd or 5th semester, only the semesters completed at NSU are included in the NSU CGPA calculation.
Convert NSU CGPA to Percentage
Use the HEC standard formula to convert your NSU CGPA to a percentage equivalent for government job applications, CSS/PMS requirements, and MS admissions.
Formula: Percentage = (CGPA ÷ 4.0) × 100
| CGPA | Percentage | Class / Division |
