About JSMU

Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) is a public sector medical university established in 2012 by the Government of Sindh in Karachi. It evolved from the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) — one of Pakistan's largest public hospitals — into a full-fledged HEC-chartered university. JSMU is the apex regulatory body for medical education in Sindh, overseeing affiliated medical colleges across the province.

JSMU is recognised by the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Its main affiliated hospitals include Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and Civil Hospital Karachi, both among the largest tertiary care hospitals in Pakistan. The university also oversees and regulates numerous private and public affiliated medical and dental colleges in Sindh.

JSMU Grading Scale (Official 10-Grade System)

MBBS and BDS programmes are assessed under PMC professional examination standards, not the HEC GPA system.
