The same formula applies to every public medical and dental college in Sindh. For 2026-27, JSMU processes admissions for Karachi’s public colleges (JSMU, DUHS, KMU and SMBBMC Lyari). Candidates are then interviewed by the admission committee and examined by a medical board.

Under JSMU’s Admission Policy, these bachelor programmes are decided on Matric/Inter scores plus an admission test and/or interview. Each institute’s admission committee sets the criteria, and JSMU doesn’t publish a fixed split. Examples: BS Occupational Therapy needs 50% in pre-medical Intermediate, age 18–25 and a Sindh domicile, and BBA (IHBM) needs 50% in Intermediate plus a test and an interview.
Common JSMU Merit Mistakes
- Counting grace marks. The 60% FSc requirement is unadjusted.
- Missing the form deadline. The 2026-27 tentative schedule closes forms on 26 October 2026.
- Wrong board for SMC open merit. Karachi open-merit seats need Matric and Inter from the Karachi Board or Centre.
