AKU Merit Calculator (Aga Khan University MBBS & BScN)

Use this AKU merit and eligibility checker to see whether you qualify for Aga Khan University’s MBBS or BScN programme. AKU does not use a merit formula. It shortlists on the AKU Admission Test, holds two interviews, requires a PMDC MDCAT score for MBBS, and then rank-orders candidates by a comprehensive review. No calculator can predict that review.

Quick answer

AKU’s MBBS Admission Information 2026-27: merit is assessed by scholastic achievement, the AKU Admission Test, interviews, productive use of time and leadership potential. Meeting the minimum or a high score in one area “is not sufficient for selection”, and the outcome “cannot be anticipated at any stage”. There are no quotas or donation seats. You need at least 70% in pre-medical HSSC and a valid PMDC MDCAT.

AKU does not publish a merit formula, so no aggregate can be calculated honestly. This tool checks the minimum and shows the selection steps.

How AKU Selects MBBS Students

StageWhat happens
Stage IOnline application and the AKU Admission Test, which is used for shortlisting
Stage IITwo independent interviews, Application Form II (achievements and activities), two teacher references, and your PMDC MDCAT result
Final selectionShortlisted candidates are rank-ordered by a comprehensive review of academics, interviews and other attributes

AKU publishes no weights for these parts, so any “AKU aggregate” you see elsewhere is a guess. You can apply for MBBS a maximum of two times. AKU expects to use the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) from the 2027 cycle.

The AKU Admission Test

The AKU Test is a multiple-choice paper based on Pakistan’s HSSC curriculum. It has a science achievement section (physics, chemistry and biology, which is compulsory), a science reasoning section and a mathematical reasoning section. AKU offers no coaching and endorses no prep books. The score is valid only in the year it is taken.

Common AKU Admission Mistakes

  • Trusting an “AKU aggregate”. AKU publishes no formula; selection is a comprehensive review.
  • Forgetting the MDCAT. PMDC’s MDCAT is required for final MBBS selection, even with a strong AKU Test score.
  • Missing the HSSC deadline. Pakistani HSSC results had to reach AKU by 14 September 2026.
  • Applying to AKU only. AKU itself advises candidates to apply to other institutions too.

AKU admissions

How this page was checked. The selection process, eligibility, test details and key dates come from Aga Khan University’s MBBS Admission Information 2026-2027. Fees come from its Academic Year 2027 fee structure, and BScN rules from its School of Nursing & Midwifery admission booklet. All were read on 20 October 2026. AKU publishes no merit weightage, so this page checks eligibility instead of inventing a formula. The other calculator page checked (CampusAxis) also says AKU has no fixed formula.
