University of Education Merit Formula 2026: 30% Matric + 70% Intermediate
UE’s Fall 2026 prospectus (Admission Rules, clause 4) sets merit by entry level:

There is no entry test, interview or bonus in BS merit, and UE’s rules mention no Hafiz-e-Quran marks or gap-year deduction. If your result shows a CGPA instead of marks, UE converts it as CGPA ÷ maximum CGPA × 100.
Some programmes may have extra criteria in their scheme of studies, such as required subjects.
How to Calculate Your UE Aggregate: Step-by-Step Guide
- Convert your marks to percentages. Divide obtained marks by total marks and multiply by 100.
- Multiply by UE’s weightage. Matric × 0.30, Intermediate × 0.70.
- Add the two results. The total is your merit out of 100.
Worked example: BS programme
A student scores 950/1100 in Matric and 980/1100 in Intermediate.

Worked example: BS 5th semester (Post ADP)
The same Matric and Intermediate marks with an ADP CGPA of 3.20/4.00 (80.00%): 86.36% × 0.20 + 89.09% × 0.30 + 80.00% × 0.50 = 17.27 + 26.73 + 40.00 = 84.00%.

Across 72 BS Morning programmes, Fall 2025 closing merit ranged from 42.92 to 90.07. Computing at the Township campus in Lahore is by far the most competitive. Many science and humanities programmes close in the 45–60 range, so they are within reach of most eligible applicants. Evening programmes usually close lower.
University of Education Eligibility Criteria 2026
Applicants with a third division (below 45% in the annual system, below 2.00 CGPA, or below 60% in the semester system where no CGPA is given) are not considered for any programme.

For Fall 2026 Phase-II, you can apply only if your complete Intermediate result has been declared. Result-awaited applicants are not eligible in this phase. Otherwise UE may admit result-awaited applicants provisionally on their 1st-year result (pass only) at its own campuses, and they must submit the full result within two weeks of its declaration.
You need a separate application and processing fee for each campus, programme, shift and quota.

UE Merit Impact: How Much Is Each Mark Worth?

With no entry test, your merit is fixed once your results are out. What you can still control is where you apply: the same score can miss Computer Science at Township but clear it comfortably at another campus.
How to Maximise Your Chances at UE
- Apply to more than one campus. Closing merit for the same programme varies by up to 38 points between campuses.
- Apply to both Morning and Evening shifts. Evening programmes usually close lower.
- Apply early in the phase. Applicants who apply later are considered only for later merit lists, and only if seats remain.
- Check whether you qualify for a reserved seat. Reserved seats have their own merit lists.
- Keep improvement results in mind. Intermediate carries 70% of your merit.
Common UE Merit Calculation Mistakes to Avoid
- Adding an entry test. BS merit at UE is Matric and Intermediate only.
- Using 10/40/50 or another university’s formula. UE uses 30% SSC and 70% HSSC.
- Using the BS formula for 5th-semester admission. Post-ADP merit gives your ADP/BA/BSc 50%.
- Comparing with the wrong campus. Each campus has its own closing merit.
- Treating the estimate as final. Only UE’s published merit lists are official.
