Foundation University Merit Calculator (FUI: FUMC, FUCD & FUSST)

Use this free Foundation University merit calculator for Foundation University Islamabad (FUI). For MBBS and BDS at Foundation University Medical College and College of Dentistry (FUSH), FUI uses the NUMS formula: 10% SSC + 40% HSSC + 50% NUMS MDCAT. For BS programmes at FUSST, FUI publishes eligibility only: an NTS NAT score of 50 or the FUSST entry test, with no weighted formula.

Quick answer

FUSH’s “Eligibility Criteria & Merit Calculation for MBBS/BDS” gives the weightage as NUMS MDCAT 50% + HSSC/F.Sc Pre-Medical 40% + SSC 10%. You need 55% in the NUMS MDCAT for MBBS (45% for BDS), more than 60% in HSSC Pre-Medical, and a pass in a psychological test. For FUSST BS programmes, FUI accepts an NTS NAT score of 50 or its own university test, and publishes no merit weights.

Common Foundation University Merit Mistakes

  • Using a provincial MDCAT formula for FUMC. Foundation’s medical colleges are NUMS-affiliated and use the NUMS MDCAT.
  • Forgetting the psychological test. It is a pass/fail requirement for MBBS.
  • Expecting a FUSST merit formula. FUSST publishes eligibility and tests only.
  • Applying with exactly 60% HSSC for MBBS. FUSH asks for more than 60%.
