VU Merit Calculator (Virtual University of Pakistan Eligibility)

Use this free VU merit calculator to check whether you can get admission at the Virtual University of Pakistan. VU does not rank undergraduate applicants with a merit formula. You are admitted if you meet the programme’s minimum marks, usually 45% in Intermediate. A few science programmes have limited open-merit seats, and below 45% you may be able to join through VU’s Zero Semester.

Quick answer

VU admits undergraduates on eligibility, not a merit formula. Most BS, BBIT and associate degree programmes need Intermediate with 45%, and computing associate degrees need 50% with Mathematics. Below 45% you can join many programmes after VU’s Zero Semester. BS Biotechnology, Zoology and Bioinformatics have limited seats filled on open merit. MS CS and MBA need a VU entry test with 50%.

VU does not publish a merit formula for undergraduate admission. This tool checks your Intermediate percentage against VU’s published minimum for each programme and tells you whether the Zero Semester route is open.

Does VU Have a Merit Formula?

No. VU’s admission instructions say that applicants “who fulfill the minimum prescribed admission requirements for the particular study program” can apply, and its programme pages list minimum marks, not weightages. There is no entry test for BS, BBIT or associate degree programmes, and no merit list ranks them.

Common VU Admission Mistakes

  • Waiting for a merit list. For most VU programmes there is none; eligible applicants are admitted.
  • Assuming the Zero Semester is always open. It is not available for computing and open-merit programmes.
  • Entering the wrong CNIC at sign-up. VU rejects forms with an incorrect CNIC.
  • Missing the processing fee deadline. Forms without the Rs. 500 fee are not processed.

How this page was checked. Minimum marks, open-merit seats and the Zero Semester rules come from the Virtual University’s programme pages and its Admission Procedure page, which also gives the Fall 2026 schedule. All were read on 19 October 2026. VU publishes no merit weightage for undergraduate admission, so this page checks eligibility instead of inventing a formula. We found no other calculator for VU.
