The University of Wah publishes one merit rule. B.E. Technology (Mechanical, Software): 50% FSc marks + 50% UW Entry Test marks. A UET ECAT result is accepted instead of the UW test. For all other programmes, UW says admission is on open merit after its entry test and follows each regulatory body’s criteria, but it does not publish a percentage split.

University of Wah Merit Formula 2026
| Programme | What UW publishes |
|---|---|
| B.E. Technology (Mechanical, Software) | 50% FSc + 50% UW Entry Test; a UET ECAT result is accepted and exempts you from the UW test |
| B.E. Technology (AI, Cyber Security) | Same eligibility as the other B.E. Technology programmes; merit rule not repeated |
| BSc Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering; BS Computer Engineering | Open merit with entry test; criteria follow PEC/NCEAC; no split published |
| BS CS, Software Engineering, AI, Cyber Security, Data Science | Open merit with entry test; no split published |
| BBA, BS Accounting & Finance, Psychology, English, Economics, Sciences | Open merit with entry test; no split published |
UW’s Prospectus 2026 says: “The admission is offered on open merit. The criterion for each discipline is followed as per the instructions of regulatory bodies.” Entry tests are held for all disciplines. Only B.E. Technology has a published percentage split, so the calculator offers that rule plus a custom option.
How to Calculate Your UW Merit (B.E. Technology)
| Component | Marks | Percentage | Weight | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FSc | 900 / 1100 | 81.82% | 50% | 40.91 |
| UW Entry Test | 60 / 100 | 60.00% | 50% | 30.00 |
| Merit | — | — | 100% | 70.91% |

Common University of Wah Merit Mistakes
- Assuming a fixed formula for every programme. UW publishes one only for B.E. Technology.
- Entering ECAT out of 100. ECAT is out of 400.
- Confusing BSc Engineering with B.E. Technology. They have different eligibility (60% vs 50%).
- Treating the estimate as final. Only UW’s merit lists are official.
