For MBBS and BDS, the Sindh prospectus used by LUMHS sets the aggregate as 10% SSC + 40% HSSC (Pre-Medical) + 50% MDCAT. For BS programmes (DPT, Pharm-D, Nursing, MLT, Radiology and others), LUMHS uses 50% HSSC + 50% LUMHS entry test, with no Matric weight. The entry test is computer-based and held at LUMHS Jamshoro.

LUMHS Merit Formula 2026
| Programme | Official formula | Test |
|---|---|---|
| MBBS, BDS (public sector) | 10% SSC + 40% HSSC + 50% MDCAT | MDCAT (2025: IBA Sukkur, out of 180) |
| DPT, Pharm-D, BS Nursing, MLT, Radiology, Forensic Biology, Physician Associate, OT, Audiology, Psychology, Health Informatics, Biomedical Engineering and other BS | 50% HSSC + 50% LUMHS entry test | LUMHS computer-based test (CBT) |
The MBBS/BDS formula is set in the Sindh MBBS & BDS Prospectus 2025-26, which LUMHS publishes. The BS formula is on LUMHS’s undergraduate admission page, headed “Weightage formula for merit calculation”. Matric does not count for BS programmes.
How to Calculate Your LUMHS Aggregate
This is the official worked example from the Sindh prospectus (MBBS):
| Component | Marks | Percentage | Weight | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SSC / O-Level equivalence | 650 / 850 | 76.471% | 10% | 7.647 |
| HSSC | — | 60.000% | 40% | 24.000 |
| MDCAT | 99 / 180 | 55.000% | 50% | 27.500 |
| Aggregate | — | — | 100% | 59.147% |
For a BS programme: HSSC 900/1100 (81.82%) and a LUMHS test score of 70/100 give 40.91 + 35.00 = 75.91%.
LUMHS MBBS Seats by District (2025-26)
LUMHS admits MBBS students on district merit: you compete only with applicants from your own district. These are the seats shown on its official 2025-26 district-wise final merit lists.
| District | MBBS seats | District | MBBS seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hyderabad | 41 | Tharparkar | 26 |
| Sanghar | 37 | Umerkot | 18 |
| Badin | 30 | Thatta | 17 |
| Shaheed Benazirabad | 30 | Jamshoro | 16 |
| Mirpurkhas | 27 | Sujawal | 14 |
| Matiari | 13 | Tando Allahyar | 13 |
| Tando Muhammad Khan | 12 | Total | 294 |
Because merit is district-wise, the closing aggregate differs from district to district. Check your district’s final list on the LUMHS website, linked below, to see where last year’s list ended.

Common LUMHS Aggregate Mistakes
- Adding Matric for BS programmes. BS merit is 50% HSSC + 50% LUMHS test only.
- Using another province’s MDCAT total. MDCAT 2025 in Sindh (IBA Sukkur) was out of 180.
- Comparing with the wrong list. MBBS merit is district-wise, so compare with your own district.
- Treating the estimate as final. Only LUMHS’s merit lists are official.
